Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis

  • Plants carry out photosynthesis in order to produce glucose and oxygen, from which they can respire to generate energy for growth.

Carbon dioxide + water --> Glucose + Oxygen
6CO2+ 6H2O --> C6H12O6 +6O2

  • Three factors can limit the speed of photosynthesis: light intensity, carbon dioxide concentration and temperature.
