Protoctists
- Protoctists tend to be microscopic unicellular organisms.
- A pathogenic example is plasmodium which causes malaria.
- Some are like animal cells, e.g. Amoeba which is a protozoa.
- Others are more like plants and contain chloroplasts so can photosynthesise. These are called algae (some are multi cellular)
